The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated government agencies’ adoption of new technology, but many remain hamstrung by old systems. Technology allows us to communicate instantly across miles, improves productivity by reducing time-consuming glitchy processes and puts information directly into the hands of those who need it most. But tech-dependent lifestyles also require us to be more thoughtful about how we use technology, both in and out of the workplace. This article explores some of the ways technology affects workers and how they can best harness its potential for positive change.
